How to calculate percent off
To find the sale price: Sale price = Original × (1 − Percent off ÷ 100). For 25% off $80: $80 × 0.75 = $60.
To find what percentage off: Percent off = ((Original − Sale) ÷ Original) × 100. If $80 went to $60: ((80 − 60) ÷ 80) × 100 = 25% off.
To find the original price: Original = Sale price ÷ (1 − Percent off ÷ 100). If $60 is 25% off: $60 ÷ 0.75 = $80.
Common percent off amounts on $100
10% off = $90 · 15% off = $85 · 20% off = $80 · 25% off = $75 · 30% off = $70 · 40% off = $60 · 50% off = $50 · 75% off = $25.
